The government is working fast to strengthen the road structure in Rajasthan. Deputy Chief Minister Dia Kumari informed that 21 new National Highway Projects have been approved by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways at a cost of Rs 5000 crore in the state. Under these projects, many important roads will be constructed including widening of Nagaur-Netra Road, Raipur-Jassa Kheda Road, Gangapur City and Karauli bypass. Additionally, the work of improving 13 black spots will also be done on priority basis, which will reduce road accidents.
This is the historical budget of the Government of Rajasthan.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the state government has made a provision of Rs 17,384 crore for road development this year, which is the biggest budget ever. Under the state plan, rural roads, major district roads (MDRs) and state highways will be expanded to ensure better connectivity to every corner of the state.
Rajasthan set a new record in road construction
The state government constructed roads, bridges and overbridges (ROB/RUB) at a cost of Rs 12,620 crore in the last financial year, which is the highest budget expenditure ever. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the double engine government of Rajasthan is constantly establishing new dimensions of development so that traffic in the state can become convenient and safe.
Record under CRIF
Road construction works have been completed in Rajasthan at a cost of Rs 1,300 crore from the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works Department, Praveen Gupta said that this has been possible with the active supervision and efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Dia Kumari.
