Amravati: After the formation of Telangana as a separate state from Andhra Pradesh, there has been a dispute over the capital. Sometimes there is mention of three capitals of Andhra Pradesh, but now Chandrababu Naidu of Telugu Desam Party has announced to have only one capital. Let us tell you that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has got majority in the assembly elections of Andhra Pradesh. In such a situation, he will now take oath as the Chief Minister on Wednesday. A day before his swearing-in ceremony, Telugu Desam Party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Tuesday that Amaravati will be the only capital of the state.
Announcement made in the meeting of legislative party
Let us tell you that Naidu made this announcement while addressing a joint meeting of TDP, Bharatiya Janata Party and Janasena MLAs. In this meeting, he was unanimously elected the leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. Naidu said, “There will be no game in the name of three capitals in our government. Our capital is Amaravati. Amaravati is the capital.”
There was a shock when the government changed
In fact, as the first Chief Minister of divided Andhra Pradesh during the year 2014-2019, he had put forward the idea of making Amaravati the capital. But this idea of Naidu got a setback in 2019 when TDP was out of power and YSRCP led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy won a landslide victory. Reddy thwarted the plan to make Amaravati the capital and he introduced the new principle of three capitals. However, now Naidu has preferred the decision of a single capital instead of this principle.
Excellent performance in Loksabha and Vidhansabha elections
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of TDP, BJP and Janasena has won a spectacular victory in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections held together in the state recently. NDA won 164 seats in the Assembly elections here, while it won 21 seats in the Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh. The effect of this victory in the Lok Sabha elections along with the Assembly elections is also being seen on the central government. TDP will have an important role in the central government. Along with this, this victory has given new life to the Amaravati capital city project. (input language)
