Now central government employees can also participate in the programs of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The ban on central government employees that they cannot participate in RSS programs has been lifted now. This is being considered as a gift from the central government in the centenary year of RSS. The subordinate employees of the central government who wanted to participate in the programs of the RSS volunteers could not do so due to the restrictions. Due to the removal of these restrictions, there is definitely an atmosphere of happiness among them, now the ban on them has been lifted.

58 year old ban lifted

The Central Government has lifted the 58-year-old ban on the participation of central government employees in the programs of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. This order amended the orders of 1966, 1970 and 1980 by the Central Government, which imposed action and punitive provisions on government employees for participating in the branches and other activities of RSS along with some other organizations.

The law was applicable in Vajpayee government too

A provision was made to give severe punishment to employees for participating in RSS activities. However, in the meantime, many state governments including Madhya Pradesh had repealed this order, but this order remained at the central government level. The 58-year ban was lifted on 9 July 2024. Let us tell you that this law was also in force during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure as Prime Minister.

What is the government’s order?

On 9 July 2024, the Central Government has issued an order that government employees can participate in the activities of RSS. This order has been issued by the Government of India Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Department of Personnel and Training Department. The order is signed by the Deputy Secretary Government of India.
