Weather Rain Update: The southern states of the country are receiving torrential rains after the arrival of monsoon. Even the monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in the north-eastern states. But the northern states are eagerly waiting for the rains at this time. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in many parts of nine states across the country.
According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Goa, Karnataka and parts of Maharashtra in the next four days, while heavy rains are expected in Gujarat on Sunday and Monday (23-24 June). At the same time, widespread rains with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are likely in the Vidarbha region of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during the next four days.

The Meteorological Department said in a statement that Uttar Pradesh, which is facing severe heat this summer, is likely to receive widespread light to moderate rain from June 25 to 27. While light to moderate rain is also expected in Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha during the next four days.
Rain before monsoon arrives in Delhi
The rain before the arrival of monsoon in the capital Delhi has brought relief from the scorching heat. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunderstorms in Delhi on Monday and Tuesday as well. The southwest monsoon has reached more than half of the country. On Sunday, there was light rain in some areas of Delhi and the sky remained cloudy throughout the day. Due to this the temperature fell below 40 degrees. The maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 39.8 and the minimum at 29.6 degrees.
Weather condition of other states
According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, coastal Karnataka and Kerala may receive moderate to heavy rains with some very light rains. Konkan and Goa, South Gujarat, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands may receive light to moderate rains with some heavy rains.
Light to moderate rain is possible in Madhya Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, East Gujarat, Odisha and Northeast India. Light rain may occur in Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Southeast Rajasthan.
