The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Friday launched a mobile app developed by MapmyIndia in collaboration with IIT, Madras, which will alert users about every upcoming black spot so that drivers can take precautions.
A ministry official said that this is a “free to use” navigation app service and using this app users will also get voice and visual alerts about oncoming speed breakers, sharp curves and potholes. The app is named “MOVE”, and it also won the government’s Atmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge in 2020. The special thing is that users can also file complaints about such areas through the app.
