Weather Rain Update: The wait for rain in many states of the country is now slowly coming to an end. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that atmospheric conditions are favorable for the southwest monsoon to advance into Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh by June 25. This progress will bring relief from the heat and the monsoon season will begin in these areas.
The weather department has issued a heatwave warning for Uttar Pradesh, which is expected to last till June 24. Similar weather is expected in Jammu from June 23 to 25. With the effect of western disturbances subsiding in the coming days, temperatures are expected to rise in western UP, and heatwave conditions are likely to persist till June 24. However, monsoon is expected to arrive in eastern UP in the next two to three days, bringing some relief. For Lucknow, the IMD has predicted light rain from June 23, with the intensity increasing from June 24.

Heat may increase again in Delhi
For Delhi-NCR, the IMD has forecast light clouds and rain on Saturday, June 23. However, the temperature is not expected to drop much and it may rise to 44 degrees Celsius in the next 3-4 days, due to which the scorching heat will continue.

According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rains with heavy rains are possible in South Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light to moderate rains are possible in Madhya Maharashtra, northern coast of Andhra Pradesh, South Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, East Gujarat, East Rajasthan, Sikkim, Odisha and Northeast India.
Light rains may occur in Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka and Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Heat wave conditions may prevail in some areas of western Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours and may reduce thereafter.
