Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that all departments should repair damaged, dilapidated buildings immediately, so that any type of accident can be avoided. He said that now personal responsibility will be fixed on the loss of life in any such accident. The Chief Minister directed the officials to make a list of government buildings, schools, Anganwadis built in the last 6 years and a special state level committee should be made and the construction quality should be checked.
Sharma gave special guidelines to the officers in connection with dilapidated buildings in a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday. He said that approval should be obtained from disaster management item for repairing damaged buildings and work should be started by preparing a proposal on time. He said that special attention needs to be paid to inspection, repair and maintenance of buildings built in rural areas. Personnel working in government offices should also bear their responsibility and ensure that the officials concerned should ensure information about the dilapidated buildings.
Anganwadi centers running in dilapidated buildings were transferred elsewhere
The Chief Minister said that special attention should be paid to the repair and maintenance of Anganwadi centers of the state and they should be mandated. He said that the state government has made a provision of Rs 50 crore in the budget 2025-26 for repairing the buildings of 5 thousand Anganwadi centers. It was informed in the meeting that dilapidated and damaged Anganwadis have been transferred to a safe place elsewhere.
Damaged schools and hospitals should be repaired
Sharma directed the concerned departments including Public Works Department, Education, Women and Child Development Department to immediately inspect all government offices, especially schools, hospitals and other public buildings and make district -wise reports with complete information and repair work should be done. In the meeting, education, women and child development, panchayatiraj, medical and health and other departments presented damaged and dilapidated buildings and their repair reports.
Senior officials of various departments including Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant were present in the meeting.
