New Delhi. The series of threats through e-mails in different parts of the country is showing no sign of stopping. In the latest incident, more than a dozen colleges including Delhi University’s famous D Shriram College, Hansraj College and Ramjas College were bombed on Thursday. It was written in the threatening e-mail that a bomb was kept in the college campus. A day earlier, a similar e-mail had been sent to North Block, in which it had received a bomb threat.
According to the official, the local police, a bomb squad, a bomb detection team equipped with a dog squad reached Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College and conducted a search, but nothing suspicious was found. LSR Principal Suman Sharma told PTI that the entire college campus was searched.
Threat to many colleges of DU
Sharma said, ‘We received an e-mail containing a bomb threat this afternoon. Immediately, the police were informed about this and they sent a bomb disposal squad. The search operation went on for two-three hours and the entire premises was searched. Apart from this, Hansraj College, Gargi College, Ramjas College, Zakir Hussain College, Indraprastha College for Women, Lady Irwin College, Kirori Mal College, Bhaskaracharya College, Deendayal Upadhyay College, Sri Venkateswara College and PGDAV College were also sent threatening e-mails. Received mail.
Home Ministry also threatened
Apart from the colleges of Delhi University, other institutions including Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) also received threats, although the investigation team that reached the spot did not find anything suspicious. A day earlier, the Home Ministry had also received a similar threatening e-mail.
Threats were received to blow up hospitals
Burari Government Hospital in the national capital and Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri had received bomb threats through emails on Sunday. Police personnel reached hospitals with bomb disposal teams and sniffer dogs. This comes a few days after more than 100 schools in the national capital received a bomb threat via email.
Threats to schools of Jaipur and Lucknow also
Let us tell you, for the last few days, cases of bomb threats to schools have been reported in different cities. Earlier, apart from the country’s capital Delhi, threats of bombing schools in Jaipur and Lucknow were also received. Schools in Ahmedabad had received bomb threats.
Many schools received threats
On Monday, May 6, many schools in Ahmedabad received bomb threats through email. This created an atmosphere of tension and anxiety in the city. These threats were given through email. On receiving information about the matter, police teams along with bomb squads reached the schools. Police officials appealed to the public to be vigilant and cautious and said that necessary steps have been taken to deal with threats and maintain security.
