NPCI, UPI Payments
Most of the digital transactions in India are done through UPI. Every year the number of payments made through UPI is touching new records. However, still a large section of people do not use UPI payments. NPCI, the agency monitoring digital payments in India, is soon going to make a major upgrade in the UPI payment system. Users will no longer need to remember the PIN code to make UPI payments. They will be able to make UPI payments by showing their face or by putting their thumb.
Biometric feature will be used!
A recent report claims that the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) is talking to several companies about UPI payments using the biometrics of smartphones. In such a situation, soon users will not need to remember the PIN or code for any UPI payment. Users will also be able to make online payments using the biometric features of their smartphones.
UPI payment will be done without PIN
For example, if you have to make a UPI payment to someone, you will not need to enter the UPI PIN. You will be able to use the biometric lock of your smartphone to make online payments. These days NPCI is exploring new technology to curb the increasing cyber crime. Currently, users are using apps like PhonePe, Amazon Pay, PayTm in their smartphones to make UPI payments.
Crores of users using UPI may face difficulty in remembering the 6 digit PIN or code. Due to this upgraded UPI system of NPCI, users will now be able to make payments by putting their thumb or showing their face. In the coming days, this facility can prove to be very useful for UPI users.
