Now Vinesh will get justice! The man who once left Pakistan breathless with ₹1 will fight the case

New Delhi. A major incident has come to light in the case of Vinesh Phogat being disqualified in the final of the wrestling match at the Paris Olympics due to being 100 grams overweight. Now there is hope that India’s daughter Vinesh Phogat will get justice and she will also get the silver medal. Now this match will be fought in the court and not in the wrestling ring. In which Harish Salve has taken the responsibility of fighting on behalf of Vinesh Phogat. This is the same Harish Salve who gave a tough time to Pakistan for just 1 rupee. Famous lawyer Harish Salve has expressed his consent to fight Vinesh Phogat’s case. It has been told that Harish Salve has agreed to appear on behalf of Vinesh Phogat in the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

Harish Salve’s decision comes at a time when the Indian team was struggling to get a famous and big lawyer for the hearing. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) had requested additional time to appoint a lawyer for Vinesh Phogat’s appeal before the CAS. Vinesh had appealed against her disqualification on two counts. The first was to allow her to weigh again, which was rejected by the court and the gold medal match took place as scheduled. The second appeal was to give her the silver medal as she had earned it by weighing properly on Tuesday. CAS has said that it will deliberate on the matter.

Vinesh Phogat hopes to get a medal
Though her appeal for a second weigh-in was rejected, she is still expected to get a medal as she seeks to overturn her disqualification or at least get a silver medal for her performance on Tuesday. According to reports, four lawyers from Paris are currently representing Vinesh. But with the involvement of Harish Salve, the Indian Olympic Association is hopeful of a favourable outcome. However, the matter may not be resolved immediately and may drag on. This comes after Vinesh announced her retirement on Thursday, citing a lack of strength to continue in the sport.
