New Delhi. Today (October 18) Jay Shah has once again been elected as the Secretary of the Board in the annual meeting of BCCI. After being elected to this post for the second time, he has said that India will not go to Pakistan at all to play the Asia Cup next year. Rather, Jay Shah has instead proposed that this year the tournament will be held at a neutral venue (where both India and Pakistan agree to play). After this statement of Jai Shah, there is panic in Pakistan. Former Pakistan cricket players have made many comments on the BCCI and have also given various advices to the PCB.
After such statements came out from India, according to media reports, Pakistan Cricket Board President Rameez Raja has said that Pakistan is ready to take tough decisions on this matter. However, during this time Pakistan will also take care of the rules of ICC and ACC. According to sources associated with Rameez Raja, Pakistan may also withdraw its name from the ODI World Cup to be hosted by India in 2023. However, no official statement has been made by the Pakistan Cricket Board on this matter.
Giving more details about this, PCB spokesperson has said that we will look into the statement and the matter will be taken up at the right forum. It is worth noting that other former players of Pakistan have given similar statements. Pakistani players are talking about the absence of the Pakistani team in the ODI World Cup to be held in India.
Recently, reacting to India’s statement, Saeed Anwar wrote in his tweet, “When all international teams and international players come to Pakistan to play Pakistan Super League, then what is the problem with BCCI. If BCCI is ready to move the 2023 Asia Cup to a neutral venue, then Pakistan should also move the 2023 ODI World Cup to a neutral venue.”
So in this way Pakistani players are expressing their anger on Jay Shah and BCCI’s decision.
