After the defeat of the Samajwadi Party alliance in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, there has been a big storm in the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD). RLD state president Masood Ahmed has left the party. Masood has also written a letter to RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary alleging that from selling tickets in the UP elections to neglecting Dalits and Muslims.
Masood wrote in an open letter that he had joined RLD in 2015-16 on the call of Chaudhary Ajit Singh to fight for the rights of farmers, oppressed, deprived sections with the values of former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh ji and Jat-Muslim unity. . In 2016-17, he was made the state president. Masood said that he worked tirelessly during the bad times of the party to strengthen the organisation.
Masood accused Chandrashekhar Ravana of insulting him and said that due to this the Dalit vote went away from the alliance and went to BJP. He accused Jayant Chaudhary and Akhilesh Yadav of adopting supremo culture and said that the organization was sidelined. RLD and SP leaders were not used in the campaign. Dedicated Pasi and Verma leaders of the party were not used, leaving them in the election.
Masood further wrote, “Tickets were changed three times on the last day in filling the form for seats like Jaunpur Sadar. There were three SP candidates in one seat. This sent a wrong message to the public. As a result, we lost at least 50 such seats by a margin of 200 to 10000 votes.
Alleging that tickets were distributed by taking money, Masood has written, “In the affair of collecting money, the announcement of the candidates was not done in time. The election was fought without preparation. All the seats were filled on almost the last day. There was anger among the party workers and the election day remained sluggish. No candidate was told who would contest from where. In the precious time, the workers of Lucknow and Delhi were lying at the feet of AAP and Akhilesh ji and the preparations for the elections could not be done. Akhilesh ji gave tickets to whomever he wanted while collecting money, due to which the alliance was forced to contest elections without booth presidents. For example, Swami Prasad Maurya was sent to Fazilnagar without notice and he lost the election. Akhilesh ji and you acted like a dictator, due to which the alliance had to face defeat. I suggest to you that till Akhilesh ji does not give equal respect, then the alliance should be postponed.
