This was followed by a mahapanchayat on 27 January, in which the groom told his story.

A case of refusal of marriage has come to light before the engagement ceremony in Karauli. After which the girl’s family cut the boy’s brother’s mustache. After this, a mahapanchayat was called at the wrestling ground on 27 January. In which a large number of people of Meena society reached. In the Mahapanchayat, information about the incident was taken from the person deciding the marriage. This means that I neither saw the girl nor showed the boy.

The boy (groom) is a resident of Kariri in Todabhim and has a station master in the railway. The boy’s statement was also taken in the Mahapanchayat. In which the boy told that he was locked in the room and kept in the room all night and was beaten. After this, beard, mustache and hair were cut. The boy’s family reached the girl’s house at around 12 noon on Saturday 18 January. As soon as the engagement ceremony started, the girl was seated at the outpost by the family.

During this time the boy’s siblings did not like the girl and refused to engage. He says that the girl whose photo was shown was different and this girl is different. When the girl’s family was asked about this, he said that he would reply later. On this, the boys insisted on talking on the spot, after which the engagement was stopped. Let us tell you that the people of the girl side did not reach the mahapanchayat.
