Devotees offer 169 square feet long Rakhi to Lord Ganesha in Indore
Indore: In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Lord Ganesha has been tied with the world’s largest rakhi. The weight of this rakhi is 125 kg and the length of its string is 101 meters. This rakhi has been made on the theme of saving the environment.
What is the whole matter?
An organization of devotees of Lord Ganesha offered a 169 square feet long rakhi to their deity on Raksha Bandhan on Monday. The organization claims that this is the world’s largest rakhi made on the theme of saving the environment. Rahul Sharma, secretary of Shri Vighnaharta Ganesh Bhakt Samiti, said that this rakhi was offered to the Lord at the Khajrana Ganesh temple in the city on the auspicious time of Raksha Bandhan.
He called it the world’s largest rakhi made on the theme of saving the environment. Sharma said that the 13 x 13 feet long rakhi string is 101 meters long and has been tied across the entire temple premises. He said that the weight of the rakhi is 125 kilograms and it has been prepared by 15 artists in a fortnight.
The name of the plantation campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, launched on World Environment Day on June 5 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is also written on the rakhi. Sharma said that while offering this rakhi to Lord Ganesha, we prayed to him to protect the earth from the dangers of global warming and climate change.
