The departure of the British F-35 fighter aircraft standing at the Trivandrum Airport in Kerala for more than a month is coming close, but during this time the airport has become rich in its parking fee. The price of F-35B is more than $ 110 million (about ₹ 915 crore). It is a fifth generation fighter aircraft and is known for short distance flight and vertical landing. It is equipped with state-of-the-art sensors, stealth technology and network-centered war capabilities. It is used at ships, small runways and temporary military bases. In circumstances like war, its capacity like Superman makes it invaluable for modern military forces.
Experts from Britain reached for investigation
On July 6, the 24 -member team of the British Royal Air Force reached Thiruvananthapuram, which included 14 technical experts and 10 crew members. Their job was to assess the position of the aircraft and decide if it could be repaired locally and made to fly capable, or separate it and send it back to the United Kingdom from special cargo aircraft such as C-17 Globemaster. The British team has also tested the aircraft at the special facility center of the airport.
Parking fee reached millions of rupees at airport
Large and military aircrafts like F-35B are being charged a heavy daily fee for parking at Trivandrum Airport for more than a month. Although the exact figure is not public, it is estimated that the airport is earning an additional income of lakhs of rupees. This amount is contributing significantly to the revenue of the Civil Aviation Authority.
