China often changes the names of our villages to tease India, which India rejects every time and gives a befitting reply. But this time China has got a tit for tat reply. It is being said that the Modi government is planning to change the names of more than two dozen places in the Tibet autonomous region. As soon as this news came out, China was shocked. It immediately issued a statement about this and started calling India an important neighboring country.
According to Indian Army sources, China had changed the names of some areas of India’s northeastern state Arunachal Pradesh. In such a situation, the Modi government has given this reply to China in a tit for tat manner. Army sources claim that they have seen such a document, which has a list of those places whose names are being prepared to be changed. It is being said that the Indian government has changed these names after a long research and study about the Tibet region.
Response to China’s ‘name-change campaign’
This move of the Indian government is being said to be a response to China’s ‘name-change campaign’. It is being claimed that the Modi government has given permission to change the names of 30 such places. The Indian Army will soon release these names and will also show it in the updated map along with the Line of Actual Control (LAC). This list includes 11 residential areas, 12 hills, four rivers, a lake, a mountain pass and a land area. Earlier in 2017 also, China had done a similar act.
What did the Chinese embassy say
After this, the Chinese Embassy issued a statement. It said, China and India are important neighboring countries. Border issues should be handled properly. A strong and stable China-India relationship is in the interest of both countries, and is conducive to peace and development in the region and beyond. China is willing to work with India to take bilateral relations forward in the right direction. According to experts, with the formation of the Modi government for the third time, China has understood that nothing can be done wrong on the border.
