BegusaraiWhen patients are not satisfied with the treatment provided in government hospitals, they take refuge in private hospitals. Seeing the increasing number of patients, doctors of private hospitals are gradually increasing their fees. If we talk about Begusarai, the fees of doctors here have gone up to Rs 1,000. The fee of Rs 1,000 is for 15 days. For further treatment, a prescription of Rs 1,000 will have to be made again after 15 days. In such a situation, poor people have to face shortage of money for treatment.

There is a doctor in Bihar who gives new life to people with a stethoscope hanging around his neck. He treats patients for a fee of just Rs. 10. Not only this, if the patient has to be admitted for 1-2 days, then the same fee of Rs. 10 is enough. Come, meet Dr. Raman Jha.

OPD fee is Rs 10, online treatment is free
Dr. Raman Jha, son of Dr. RN Jha, general physician and Ayurveda specialist, told Local18 Bihar, “Whoever comes to our clinic for OPD, we treat them for a fee of Rs 10. Apart from this, there are about 50 patients every day who are telling their illness online and medicines are also being prescribed to them. I give many medicines which are available with me for free to the patients who come to us.”

Dr Raman got the inspiration to treat patients for ₹10 from MN Roy, one of the oldest social worker doctors of Begusarai. He also used to treat patients for ₹10. He believes that money should never be a hindrance in treatment.

Serving since last 6 years
Doctor sahab’s compounder Pooja Kumari Kumar told that he has been treating patients with a sense of service to humanity for the past 6 years in Bakhri Bazar on Bakhri Khagaria Road in Begusarai district of Bihar. He is treating more than 200 patients daily. When he started this, his fee was 500 rupees, but when he had to buy a needle worth 100 rupees for 10 thousand rupees for his brother’s treatment, he changed himself. Today, the cost of treating patients is almost covered by donations to his trust Maya Kaushalya Foundation. Many MRs also help him by giving samples. Today he is known as the God of Begusarai.
