'One tree in the name of mother', PM Modi's tree planting campaign a super hit in America - India TV Hindi

Houston (USA): PM Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign is getting tremendous support in Houston, USA. To involve the expatriate community in the initiative to save the environment, the Indian Mission located here has organized several programs under the plantation campaign started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In such a situation, this campaign seems to be a super hit here. The Indian Consulate General organized these programs in the month of July in collaboration with various community and cultural organizations.

Let us tell you that the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign launched by Prime Minister Modi on World Environment Day (June 5) this year aims to plant 80 crore trees by September 2024 and 1.4 billion trees by March 2025 through the collective efforts of the government and society in India. The Prime Minister urged all the people in India and around the world to plant a tree as a tribute to nature. The Consulate organized several tree planting programs and a painting competition. Local communities and NRIs participated in these programs and the importance of environmental protection and working collectively was emphasized.

Plantation at 6 places in America

The consulate organised a tree plantation drive at six locations in collaboration with students and the Indian American community. A painting competition was also organised on the occasion with the hashtag ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ in which children participated enthusiastically. Consul General D C Manjunath told PTI Bhasha that through these events, the Indian mission encourages the local community and expatriate groups to join these initiatives and contribute towards environmental conservation.
