A shocking incident has come to light in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. Due to online gaming addiction, a son killed his mother so that he could pay his loan for his mother’s LIC policy. Accused Himanshu allegedly insured his parents Rs 50 lakh and then killed his mother for insurance amount. After the funeral, his body was thrown on the banks of river Yamuna.
Police said the accused Himanshu was accustomed to playing the game on the popular platform Zupi. He was so accustomed to the game that after losing he would borrow money and then play the game. When he came to know that he had borrowed four lakh rupees, he began to worry about how he would repay the loan. For this, he made a dangerous plan. Police said Himanshu, who took a loan to play the game, first stole his aunt’s jewelry and bought a life insurance policy of Rs 50 lakh for his parents with those money. Soon after, when his father returned home, he went to his house. While leaving, he allegedly strangled his mother Prabha to death. He placed the body in a jute sack and went to the banks of the Yamuna river with his tractor to hide it, where he threw the mother’s body on the banks of the river.
Himanshu’s father Roshan Singh went to the Chitrakoot temple, when he returned, he did not meet his wife and son at home. He asked the people around and then went to his brother’s house. Nobody knew where Prabha is and where Himanshu is. Then a neighbor told that he saw Himanshu sitting on a tractor near the river. The father informed the police and then the police reached the spot and recovered the body from Yamuna.
The police arrested Himanshu and when he was questioned, a shocking thing came to light. He told how he conspired to kill his mother for insurance amount. He told that he did all this to repay the debt. Senior police officer Vijay Shankar Mishra said, “The son was running away after killing his mother. We caught him and when he was questioned, this terrible crime came to light.”
Online gaming addiction is putting the youth in danger. In many of these sports, users can also earn money. The desire to earn money immediately on the phone turns into gambling addiction. One of the popular platforms for online gaming, Zupi has warned users that they should play only for entertainment. It is clearly stated on the site, “Do not play to earn additional income.
