New Delhi. Seeing the situation going out of control in Bangladesh, the Indian government had earlier stopped the operation of all trains going to Bangladesh. All these trains are cancelled on 6th August, but looking at the situation, there is a possibility of cancellation in future as well. While some rakes of passenger and goods trains have been stopped in Bangladesh, loaded wagons have also been stopped in India.
According to Indian Railways, 13109/13110 (Kolkata-Dhaka-Kolkata Maitree Express) has been discontinued since July 19. This train was being run by Northeast Railway.
. 13107/13108 (Kolkata-Dhaka-Koa, Maitree Express) owned by Railways-Bangladesh discontinued operation from 19 July.
. 13129/13130 (Kolkata-Khulna-Kolkata, Bandhan Express) is cancelled from 19th July.
. 13131/13132 (Dhaka-New Jalpaiguri-Dhaka, Mithali Express) is cancelled from 21st July, currently the rake of the train is in Bangladesh, so the train is cancelled.
The schedule for running trains was
• 13109/13110 Kolkata-Dhaka-Kolkata Maitree Express, from Kolkata – Tuesday and Friday and from Dhaka – Wednesday and Saturday.
• 13107/13108 Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka Maitree Express, from Kolkata – Saturday, Monday, Wednesday and from Dhaka – Friday, Sunday, Tuesday.
• 13129/13130 Kolkata-Khulna-Kolkata Bandhan Express, from Kolkata – Thursday and Sunday and from Khulna – Thursday and Sunday.
A look at freight operations
At present, there are 168 loaded wagons and 187 empty wagons in Bangladesh. At the same time, 8 loaded rakes for Bangladesh have been stopped in India.
