Deeg. In compliance with the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, a successful mock drill was organized at the Tehsil office located at Deeg District Headquarters under ‘Operation Shield’ to strengthen civil security preparations. The exercise was conducted as second civil security exercise in all districts of states bordering the western border, aimed at test, rescue and safety measures in emergency situations. This mock drill, held from 6:00 to 6:30 pm today, was led by District Collector Utsav Kaushal and District Superintendent of Police Rajesh Meena. Under the mock drill, the teams of district administration, police, civil defense, medical, fire fighting and other concerned departments immediately reached the spot as soon as the information about the ‘air strike’ on the Tehsil office. The administration and police investigated the response and coordination of various departments to deal with the emergency, which are extremely important in such disasters.
Arrangements tested in mock drill: With the sound of siren and information in the control room, police, administration vehicles, ambulances and fire brigades ran towards the scene. Local people also came to the rescue posture after hearing the sound of sirers, and after the airstrikes, all the concerned departments of the district administration became active to save the affected people. During this time, the locals also reached the spot and tried to understand the situation.
This mock drill was done with the aim of relief and rescue operations on the spot in the event of an enemy’s air strike, to take the injured to the hospital quickly and take stock of the preparations for the emergency of the hospital. With the ‘beginning’ of the air attack, sirens started ringing and the district police control room was reported to be an air strike. Police, medical, civil defense team reached the spot. Ambulance and police vehicles reached the spot with immediate effect.
In the mock drill, the ‘injured people’ were rushed to the district hospital via ambulance, where emergency medical facilities were tested. The fire brigade team reached the spot and carried out the proceedings of ‘extinguishing fire’. The team of Civil Defense and Fire Brigade also worked to extinguish the ‘fire’ on the roof of the two -storey building with the help of the ladder.
Administrative officials took command:
On receiving the information of the air strike, District Collector Utsav Kaushal and District Superintendent of Police Rajesh Meena reached the spot and took stock of the rescue and relief operations and tested the team’s activeness and quick response. During this time, he also gave necessary instructions to the departments, so that in future, it can be dealt with more effectively than any real emergency. This practice will prove helpful in strengthening the preparations for the civil security system.
