New Delhi. The government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given shape to many such schemes, which have benefited every section of the society. Be it the Mudra Loan Scheme or the scheme of providing free food grains or the Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, the common people have directly benefited from these schemes. Many schemes have also been launched in the Modi government to make people self-reliant and financially capable. Especially remarkable work has been done towards empowering half the population. Modi government has brought many schemes for daughters and women, taking advantage of which half of the country’s population is continuously moving towards development. One of these schemes is ‘Mahila Samman Savings Certificate Scheme’.
Within a span of just two months of the launch of Mahila Samman Saving Certificate Scheme, 5 lakh accounts were opened. Under the scheme, any parent or woman can start investing for herself or a minor girl. In the year 2023, Modi government had started a scheme for women named ‘Mahila Samman Saving Certificate’. The main objective of this scheme is to motivate women to save. Any woman can invest in this scheme.
The record was made in just two months
Within a span of just two months of the launch of the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate Scheme, five lakh accounts were opened. Under the scheme, any parent or woman can start investing for herself or a minor girl. The objective of this scheme is to financially empower women or girls, so that they can be able to fulfill their needs themselves. Be it pursuing higher education or starting your own business, the money saved through this scheme can be put to good use.
How much can you invest?
This is a short time saving plan. In which a minimum investment of one thousand rupees and maximum of Rs 2,00,000 can be made. A woman can open any number of accounts under this scheme, but the total amount deposited in all the accounts should not exceed Rs 2 lakh. Along with this, there should be a gap of at least three months between opening the first account and the second account. Women get compounding interest of 7.50 percent on their investments.
what is the age limit
Any woman can open an account under Mahila Samman Saving Certificate Scheme. If the girl’s age is less than 18 years, then she can open an account under the supervision of her parents or guardian. A woman can open this account by just going to an authorized bank or post office and filling a form. For this it is necessary to complete the KYC process.
