Orange alert for heavy rain in 7 states including Rajasthan
New Delhi: The rain continues in many states of the country. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert today, predicting the possibility of heavy rainfall in seven states including Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal and Rajasthan. There is a strong possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in some parts of Jodhpur, Ajmer and Bikaner divisions in Rajasthan during the next 24 hours.
There will be rain in these states for the next 5 days
IMD said that during the next 4-5 days, light to moderate rain is expected in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Heavy rains may occur in Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan.

The weather bulletin said that Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are likely to receive moderate rainfall. Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Saurashtra and Kutch will receive scattered rainfall during the next 7 days. Konkan and Goa and Gujarat region may receive scattered to widespread rainfall.
There will be no relief from rain in Bihar-Jharkhand yet
The Meteorological Department said that rain will continue in West Bengal till August 18, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till August 21, Jharkhand till August 20, Odisha till August 20. The spell of rain will continue in Assam and Meghalaya from August 19 to 21. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and Puducherry till August 19, Kerala on August 19, Andhra Pradesh till August 17 and Karnataka on August 17.

Flood increased trouble in Bihar

In Bihar, flood water is filled in the Diara areas of Kosi and Ganga.
The ground of Jamsi High School in Goradih block of Bhagalpur and the main road leading to the school are flooded. About 25 villages of Chausa block of Madhepura are surrounded by flood water. Due to flooding in the school of Teer Tola, Ghasakpur, studies have been disrupted. In Munger, the Anganwadi center in Tarapur Diara is submerged in water, while Madhya Vidyalaya, Phulkiya Brahmasthan is submerged.
