On the occasion of International Nurse Day, Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that nursing is the backbone of any health system. Till ten years ago, the responsibility of nursing in government hospitals in Bihar was on the shoulders of daughters coming from South India. But in the last ten years, Bihar’s daughters have joined the nursing service and have been engaged with so much spirit, condolences, dedication and loyalty in the service of humanity that it is being discussed not only in the country but also abroad. The Health Minister said that the case of appointment of 10,700 nurses is still pending in the court. It will be completed as soon as the court gets the green signal. He also said that the Bihar government is going to start the appointment process of 3600 GNM soon.
More than 100 nurses honored on International Nurse Day
Health Minister Mangal Pandey was honoring more than 100 nurses, ANMs and Community Health Officers (CHOs) for their outstanding work and services on the occasion of International Nurse Day to be celebrated on the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingel on Tuesday. Many dignitaries associated with health services were present on the occasion including State Health Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, Executive Director of State Health Committee Suharsha Bhagat. The Health Minister provided medals, certificates and cash of 50 thousand rupees to the players. Nurses, ANMs and CHOs providing excellent service to humanity will be given a prize of Rs 10,000. 10,000 from the state government.
What did Health Minister Mangal Pandey say?
Addressing the honor ceremony held at the Convention Hall in the old secretariat on the occasion, the Health Minister said that the daughters of Bihar have made their mark not only in the nursing service but also in the world. He said that before 2005, cows and goats were tied in government hospitals in Bihar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has now changed the picture of health services in the state. Now not only doctors, nurses, ANMs and CHOs but also medicines and all necessary equipment are available for patients in any rural hospital in the state. He said that the quality of any hospital depends on its nursing system.

The Health Minister said that earlier there was no facility for nursing studies in Bihar, but under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, there is a network of nursing schools across the state. After completing her studies and training from here, the daughters of Bihar are serving not only in the country but also in various countries of the world. He also discussed the mission upgradation launched in the state and said that now M.Sc. Nursing studies have started in the state. Now there will be no shortage of qualified teachers in nursing schools of Bihar. The Health Minister discussed the sensitive and outstanding services provided by the nurses of Bihar during the Korona period and appreciated their service spirit.
