new Delhi. An anti-terrorism court in Karachi has charged Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) chief Manzoor Pashtin and four other leaders of sedition. They have been declared a fugitive and ordered to freeze their bank accounts and block their national identity cards. This information has been given in the Friday Times report. Pashteen, Muhammad Akhtar, Ikramulla, Ahsanullah, Nurullah Tareen, Muhammad Sher Khan, Waheed Khan and M. Idris were charged with hate speech against the security establishment on May 13, 2018.
The ATC judge advised the investigating officer on the matter not to arrest the suspects despite their remarkable presence in the provincial capital and non-bailable warrants against them.
The judge also issued a permanent warrant for the arrest of five people, Dawn news reported.
Party leaders are currently in Karachi, staging a sit-in before the Sindh Assembly, calling for the release of PTM members and MNA Ali Wazir, who has been booked in three similar sedition cases and has been in Karachi since December 2020. He is lodged in the Central Jail.
The dharna is currently in its 23rd day.
