PAK vs BAN: Pakistan will play the first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi next week without a specialist spinner. Spinner Abrar Ahmed has been released from the Test team so that he can play for Pakistan A team. This means that Pakistan will play against Bangladesh with a fast bowling attack, which will see the return of Naseem Shah to the Test team after a year. Apart from this, Shaheen Afridi, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza and Mohammad Ali will be the other fast bowlers in the team.

The first Test is to be played in Rawalpindi from August 21, in which there is a threat of rain on all five days. In such a situation, Pakistan is likely to field fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mir Hamza and Khurram Shahzad. History will be created when Pakistan take on Bangladesh in the first Test without a specialist spinner. The only other time the Pak team played with all fast bowlers was in December 2019 in Rawalpindi, their first Test in Pakistan in 10 years. Although no specialist spinner will be part of the Pakistan team in the first Test, both Abrar and Ghulam will join the Test squad after the Shaheens conclude the four-day match and will be available for selection for the second Test in Karachi.
