Islamabad. Four militants were killed during a joint operation of security forces and law enforcement agencies in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The Media Branch of the Pakistani Army Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday that the campaign was run in Swat district of the province on the basis of intelligence.
According to the news agency Xinhua, the ISPR reported that the security forces encounter the terrorists at their hideout, in which the four terrorists were killed. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the hideout of the terrorists.
The statement said that several terrorist activities in the slain terrorist area were involved in activities. Earlier, security forces killed four militants in Maddi area of Dera Ismail Khan district on Wednesday.
According to ARY News report, 152 people were killed in terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in the first three months of 2025 earlier this month. Those who died included police, security personnel and common citizens. According to a report by KP police, 302 persons were also injured in these incidents.
The report states that citizens have been the most affected. Between January and March, 45 people died and 127 people were injured. The police force lost 37 members, while 46 others were injured.
According to ARY News report, 34 people of Frontier Corps (FC) died and 43 others were injured in the attacks.
According to data from the think tank Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), there was a significant increase in terrorist activities in the country in January 2025, which is 42 percent more than the previous month.
The report revealed that at least 74 terrorist attacks occurred across the country, resulting in 91 people, which included 35 security personnel, 20 civilians and 36 terrorists. In addition, 117 people were injured, including 53 members of security forces, 54 civilians and 10 terrorists. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the most affected province, followed by Balochistan.
Terrorists carried out 27 attacks in the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in 19 people killed, including 11 security personnel, six civilians and two terrorists.
