Pakistan Cricket Team Head Coach: The New Zealand cricket team’s tour of Pakistan is going to start from 18th April. A 5-match T20 series will be played between the two teams. Before this series, Pakistan team has changed its captain. Babar Azam will once again lead Pakistan in white ball cricket. At the same time, now PCB has also announced the name of the head coach for this T20 series.
Pakistan team gets new head coach
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint selection committee member Mohammad Yousuf as the interim head coach for the home T20 series against New Zealand later this month. Meanwhile, Abdul Razzaq has been made the assistant coach. This decision has been taken only for the upcoming series. The decision was made as talks continue with overseas coaches Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie for a long-term role.
Gary Kirsten can become the head coach of the team
A reliable source in the Pakistan Cricket Board said that talks with Gillespie are almost complete as he has agreed to take over as the head coach of the red-ball format. Discussions with Kirsten have not been finalized yet as he is busy with the Indian Premier League.
The source said Gillespie has agreed but has put forward conditions regarding his fees and the number of days he will be present in Pakistan. The source said the former Australian fast bowler will be available after the T20 World Cup when Pakistan continues its World Test Championship campaign against Bangladesh, England and South Africa. If everything goes according to plan, Kirsten will be the new coach of the white ball format.
