While the Pakistan team will tour England and Ireland before the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, the team has to tour South Africa later this year, where it will be seen playing series in all three formats. The entire schedule for this tour has been announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board, in which first a three-match T20 series will be played between the two teams and after this there will also be a three-match ODI series. Finally, Pakistan team’s South African tour will end with a 2-match test series.
Pakistan team will play its first match on 10th December
Pakistan team will first play a 3-match T20 series on the tour of South Africa, the first match of which will be played on December 10 at Durban ground. After this, the second and third T20 matches will be played between the two teams on December 13 at Centurion and on December 14 at Johannesburg. Keeping in mind the preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy to be played in the year 2025, there will also be a 3-match ODI series between the two teams on this tour. In this, the first ODI match will be played on the ground of Paarl on 17th December, while the last match of the series will be played on the ground of Cape Town on 19th December and Johannesburg on 22nd December.
Test series will start from 26th December
On this tour, Pakistan team also has to play a 2-match Test series against South Africa, which is also a part of the third edition of the ICC World Test Championship. The Boxing Day Test match will be held at Centurion ground from 26 to 30 December. The second and last match of this series will be played at the beginning of the year 2025 from January 3 to 7 on the grounds of Cape Town. Pakistan’s team is currently at fifth position in the points table of the World Test Championship 2023-2025 with 36.66 percent points, while South Africa’s team is at 8th position with 25 percent points.
