PCB Chairman Naqvi announced
Refused to play series against Australia
New Delhi. It seems that Pakistan cricket team’s fast bowler Haris Rauf has lost his mind. Pakistan Pacer’s annual contract was snatched away by Pakistan Cricket Board. The PCB had terminated Rauf’s central contract after Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand in early February, before the start of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). However, now he has accepted his mistake. The PCB reinstated Rauf’s central contract after he admitted his mistake in writing.
Haris Rauf had made himself unavailable for the Test tour of Australia citing workload and Big Bash League (BBL) contract, after which the PCB took this decision on disciplinary grounds. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that it seems there has been a misunderstanding. Naqvi said, ‘After receiving his written reply, the board has decided to reinstate his central contract.’

30-year-old Haris Rauf has so far played one Test, 37 ODI and 66 T20 International matches for Pakistan. He has 69 wickets in his name in ODI and 90 wickets in T-20. T20 World Cup is to be organized this year. Haris can now join the Pakistan team in the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup to be held in June. Recently, Sameen Rana, owner of Pakistan Super League franchise team Lahore Qalandars, had also strongly criticized the PCB for canceling the central contract of Haris Rauf.
‘Now we will have his insurance cover’
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi further said, ‘I was worried about him because he was injured, and there was also concern about who would provide the facilities for his treatment. Now we will have insurance cover because he is our star player and it is important to take care of him.
