Panchkula. Panchkula’s Economic Cell has taken a major action and arrested a thug who describes himself as the captain of the army. The name of the accused is Sagar Gulariya. Investigation has revealed that he is not actually a captain in the army, but a former clerk, who has already been declared a fugitive from the army.
Fake army uniforms, fake pieces and two mobile phones have been recovered from the accused. Mobile investigation has revealed that he was constantly in touch with outside numbers, which is feared that it may also be related to people outside the country.
Police investigation has revealed that Sagar Gulariya had cheated the woman officer Manpreet Kaur and her husband Satpal Singh for Rs 17.50 lakh. In the year 2024, Satpal Singh was posted in the Chandi temple command and had planned to take a loan for the construction of his house.
He came in contact with Sagar through Surmukh Singh, a companion of Satpal Singh. Sagar, describing himself as the captain of the army, assured that he had passed the loans of many soldiers. He took the documents and got a loan of Rs 17.50 lakh from SBI Bank, which was deposited in his joint account on 8 May 2024.
After this, the accused got the entire amount transferred to his account through RTGS by pretending to get them subsidized on the loan. Now the EMI of the loan is being deducted from Satpal Singh’s salary every month, while the entire amount has been grabbed the accused.
Investigation has also revealed that Sagar Gulariya has made many other soldiers their victims. In view of the seriousness of the case, ASI Narinder Singh and SHO Kamaljeet Singh themselves are investigating the entire episode.
Along with this, the police is now investigating the numbers found from the mobile of the accused in depth so that its network and other victims can be detected. Senior army officers were also already looking for this accused.
