India’s next match will now be against Belgium on August 1. India has played three matches so far. In the first match, India defeated New Zealand 3-2, while in the second match, India made a strong comeback against Argentina with the help of captain Harmanpreet’s goal in the last moment and drew 1-1.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored both the goals for India in today’s match. With this, Harmanpreet has scored 4 goals in Paris Olympics so far and he has become the highest goal scorer in the current Olympics. Harmanpreet has scored goals in all the three matches played so far by performing brilliantly. In today’s match, India adopted an aggressive approach right from the beginning and Captain Harmanpreet put the ball in Ireland’s goal post in the 11th minute itself. After this, India got a penalty corner in the 19th minute and again Captain Harmanpreet put the ball inside the goal post. With this, India went ahead 2-0 and won the entire match one-sidedly.

Belgium is second while Australia is third. Both teams have 6 points each. Argentina is in fourth place with just 1 point. New Zealand and Ireland have not been able to earn a single point so far and both teams are in fifth and sixth place respectively.
