Olympics 2024 is being organized in Paris, the capital of France. India has won a total of three medals in Olympics 2024 so far. All three are bronze. India is still hoping for more medals. However, the journey of some athletes has now ended in Olympics 2024. PV Sindhu’s name is also included in those athletes. A medal was expected from PV Sindhu this time too. She had won medals for India in the last two Olympics. She won silver in Rio Olympics and bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics, but this time she missed out on a hat-trick of medals and had to exit from the Round of 16. Sindhu looked very disappointed after not being able to win a medal for India and has posted on her social media about her journey in Paris Olympics 2024.
Sindhu is not convinced yet
After being out of Paris Olympics 2024, Sindhu posted on x and wrote that “Paris 2024: A beautiful journey but a tough defeat” Sindhu started with this special line and further wrote that this defeat is one of the toughest defeats of her career. It will take time for her to accept it, but as life goes on, she knows she will accept it. Sindhu further wrote in her post that the journey to Paris 2024 was a battle, which included two years of injury and a long time away from the game. Despite these challenges, standing here and representing my wonderful country at the third Olympics makes me feel truly blessed.
Will Sindhu retire?
After the disappointing performance at the Olympics, some people believed that Sindhu might take some big decisions regarding her career. In such a situation, Sindhu herself has given a big update to the fans about her career. Where she first wrote that I am incredibly fortunate to compete at this level and more importantly, inspire a generation. My team and I gave our all for Paris 2024, leaving everything on the court without any regrets.
Sindhu further wrote regarding her future that I want to be clear, I will continue, even if after a short break. My body and more importantly my mind need it. However, I plan to carefully evaluate the journey ahead, finding more joy in playing the game that I love so much. From these words of Sindhu, it has become clear that she will continue playing for now.
