Paris Olympics 2024 Vinesh Phogat Case: When will the decision come in the Vinesh Phogat case? Sports Arbitration Court gave information

New Delhi. The decision in the Vinesh Phogat case may come before the Olympics end. The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has given this information before hearing the case today. The Sports Arbitration Court says that a decision cannot be taken on this matter within an hour. Although Vinesh has not requested for an immediate decision in her request, the process will still be taken forward quickly.

At the same time, CAS has sent this matter to Dr. Annabelle Bennett, former judge of the Federal Court of Australia, as the sole arbitrator. India’s famous lawyer Harish Salve will represent Vinesh on her behalf. The hearing in this case is to be held today. Let us tell you that Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified after reaching the final of the 50 kg category of women’s wrestling in the Paris Olympics. Vinesh’s weight was found to be 100 grams more than 50 kg. After this, Vinesh has filed an appeal before the Sports Arbitration and requested to be given a silver medal.

On the other hand, former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who was awarded Bharat Ratna, has posted a long post on social media in support of Vinesh Phogat. Before the hearing of Vinesh’s case began before the Court of Arbitration for Sports, Sachin wrote in the language of sports, time for umpire’s call! The former cricketer said, every sport has some rules and those rules need to be seen in context, maybe even revisited sometimes. Vinesh Phogat qualified for the final fairly. Her disqualification on the basis of weight happened before the final and hence Vinesh deserves the silver medal. Taking away the silver medal from her is beyond the understanding of both logic and sports.
