Vinesh Phogat
The date of 7 August in Paris Olympics brought bad news for India. Gold medal contender female wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified due to which she was out of the medal race. Earlier, Vinesh had won the final ticket by defeating the Cuban wrestler. But even before entering the gold medal match, Vinesh’s dream of winning gold for India was shattered. A day earlier, Vinesh had created history by becoming the first Indian female wrestler to reach the Olympic final. Till morning, her at least silver medal seemed certain but now she will return without any medal.
This time Vinesh was participating in the 50 kg weight category but her weight was found to be 100 grams more than the prescribed limit due to which she was declared ineligible before the final match. As soon as this news came out, not only Vinesh’s heart was broken but the hearts of those 140 crore Indians who were expecting a gold medal from their wrestler were broken.
Indian boxer alleges conspiracy
Meanwhile, India’s legendary boxer Vijender Singh has alleged that wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification from the Olympics could be a conspiracy. Vijender Singh told PTI that elite players like Vinesh know the technique of reducing weight before big tournaments. Vijender, India’s first and only boxer to win an Olympic medal, said that it is surprising that Vinesh (50 kg) weighed just 100 grams more before the Olympic final.
After this statement of Vijender, allegations of injustice against the Indian team have started coming on social media. Actually, before this, the Indian hockey team was given a very heavy punishment for a small mistake in the quarter-finals. Then many people accused the Olympic officials of deliberately giving harsh punishment to the Indian hockey team.
Amit Rohidas banned for 1 match
Let us tell you, in the hockey quarterfinal match against Great Britain, Indian defender Amit Rohidas’ hockey stick hit the opponent’s player, after which the referee, instead of banning Amit Rohidas from the game for 10 minutes, removed him from the entire match. However, despite this, the Indian team managed to make it to the semifinals by defeating Britain in the penalty shootout on the basis of the brilliant performance of goalkeeper PR Sreejesh.
After this, when India appealed against the decision to punish Amit Rohidas, the Indian defender was banned for the next match. Not only this, Indian boxer Nishant Dev was declared defeated despite showing great performance in the quarter-finals. Nishant appeared to be dominating the opponent boxer throughout the match but when the result came, everyone was shocked. The Indian boxer was declared defeated. In such a situation, Indian fans are accusing the Olympic officials of deliberately targeting Indian players.
