Patients will not get treatment! Avoid going to these hospitals, update on doctors’ strike is here

After the rape and murder of a trainee doctor inside a medical college in Kolkata, resident doctors across the country are on an indefinite strike. Due to this, OPD services, ward services, admission of patients, operation theatres, radiological tests etc. have been disrupted in most government hospitals. Even in big tertiary care hospitals, patients who reach for treatment are having to return home without treatment.

Despite the protests, candle marches and strikes by doctors across the country for the last four days, the treatment of patients in hospitals is going to be affected in the coming days as their demands have not been heard. Not only this, the problems of patients waiting for treatment have increased due to the strike as well as holidays. Therefore, patients are going to face difficulties in getting treatment in the coming days.

There may be difficulty till 20 August
After the holiday on 15th August, hospitals will open on Friday, 16th August but the doctors’ strike can turn violent on this day, while the doctors’ strike is likely to continue on 17th August as well. After this, it will be very difficult to get treatment in hospitals due to Sunday and Rakshabandhan holiday. Therefore, these few days can be troublesome for the patients.

There is a strike in these hospitals in Delhi
Resident Doctor Associations are on strike across the country, due to which it is becoming very difficult to get treatment in more than 40 hospitals in the country. If we talk about Delhi alone, doctors are on strike in more than one and a half dozen hospitals, AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital, RML Hospital, Hedgewar Hospital, Lady Harding Medical College, Maulana Azad Medical College, IHBAS Hospital, Delhi State Cancer Institute, LNJP, Hindurao Hospital, Indira Gandhi Hospital and patients are not getting treatment.
