A one-day workshop was organized in Jaipur today by the regional news wing of All India Radio. This workshop of district correspondents, casual news readers and editors of All India Radio was inaugurated by Akash Laxman, Additional Director General, News Services Division and Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur, Additional Director General, Press Information Office, Jaipur. Giving his speech on the ‘Changing Nature of News and Media’ in the workshop, Senior Journalist Rajendra Boda said that the media and technology of news have changed with the passage of time. The sources of information do change, but the spirit of news does not change. Truth is the soul of news. He said that people still have faith in the news of All India Radio and Doordarshan. Because these institutions work not for profit but within the limits of the constitution.
Akash Laxman, Additional Director General, News Services Division, in his address said that the district correspondents of All India Radio have played a special role in making people aware and providing factual and accurate information during COVID. He said that more importance should be given to positive news instead of hot news, as they become the vehicle of change in the lives of the people. In her address, Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur said that the media plays an important role in providing information about welfare schemes to the general public. He said that news of people doing remarkable work in various fields also inspires other people of the society and they are also inspired to do something new.
Nilesh Kumar Kalbhor, Director of News Unit in the workshop said that Akashvani is making continuous efforts to connect with the common people and recently the news portal of Rajasthani has been started. On this occasion All India Radio’s Center President Mayank Kumar, Deputy Director-News Ramkhiladi Meena, Program Head Ramkaran Meena and Doordarshan News Head Manju Meena were also present.
