Plastic Bottle and High BP: In modern life, we cannot even imagine life without plastic. When plastic was first made about a hundred years ago, it was considered one of the greatest inventions but today it has become a living curse for our health. Everything from household utensils to airplane seats is being made of plastic. Plastic has become so much a part of our lives that we cannot remove it at the moment. Many dangerous things have come to light earlier also regarding the ill effects of plastic but for the first time a study has said that consuming things in plastic bottles in excess increases the risk of high blood pressure manifold.
Microscopic plastic particles found in blood
Austria’s Danube Private University Researchers have found in their study that when you drink something from a plastic bottle, the microscopic particles of plastic from the plastic start mixing in your blood and due to this your blood pressure increases. Earlier research had also found that microplastics are also present in glass bottles in the form of fluid. The study found that people who drank only tap water in steel glasses or other things had very less cases of high blood pressure as compared to those who drank water in plastic bottles. The author of the study said that after a comprehensive study, we found that if there is a habit of drinking beverages present in plastic bottles which are often packed in packets, then the risk of high blood pressure is much higher.
Disadvantages of plastic particles
The study said that for the first time, this research also found that if the consumption of beverages in plastic bottles is reduced, then the risk of increasing blood pressure also reduces a lot. This probably happens because then the microscopic particles of plastic in the blood are reduced to a great extent. On the other hand, if the consumption of beverages in plastic bottles is reduced, then the risk of heart-related diseases also reduces. In many earlier researches, it has been found that microplastic particles are present in the water in plastic bottles, and after drinking, these microplastics reach the heart muscles, placenta, kidneys, liver, and even the saliva. In a study, there are indications of microplastic particles being present in the testicular tissue of men as well. At the same time, microplastics also increase the risk of diabetes in women. On the basis of the study, it was said that if you want to reduce blood pressure, then for this you will have to give up the habit of drinking beverages in plastic bottles.
