New Delhi. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved several important projects, which will provide direct benefits to the common citizens, farmers and urban infrastructure of the country. Prime Minister Modi appreciated these decisions.
Posting on the social media platform X, PM Modi said that Pune of Maharashtra is making significant contribution in the country’s economy along with rapid development in every sector today. To bring further speed in this, we have approved the expansion of metro services here. This will promote transportation, the life of the people will be easier.
He said that we are fully committed to the welfare of the donors across the country. In this direction, today our government has approved the establishment of South Asia Regional Center of International Potato Center in Agra. This will benefit our farmers and sisters associated with potato yield.
Actually, the cabinet has given the green signal to the expansion of metro service in Pune city of Maharashtra. It will include two new corridors. This expansion plan will strengthen Pune’s East-West Mass transit system and will give the option of safe, fast and environment-friendly travel in the city, connecting IT hubs, educational institutions, commercial areas and residential areas.
Also, these new metro lines will be connected to Line-1 (Nigdi-Katraj) and Line-3 (Hinjwadi-District Court) at District Court Interchange Station, which will provide multi-model transport facilities. This project will speed up the economy of Pune and reduce traffic pressure on major routes like Paud Road and Nagar Road in the city.
Along with this, the South Asia Regional Center of the International Potato Center will be established in Agra. The central government has also approved the establishment of the South Asia Regional Center of the International Potato Center in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
At the same time, the revised master plan of rehabilitation in Jharia Coalfield of Jharkhand has also been approved. This scheme is a big step towards giving safe and better life to people living in mining affected areas.
