New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated his New Zealand counterpart Christopher Luxon on his re-election. PM Modi has also expressed his commitment to further strengthen India-New Zealand relations. Both the leaders agreed to further their bilateral relations in areas like trade and economic cooperation, animal husbandry, education and space. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office today, both the leaders said that India-New Zealand relations are based on shared democratic values ​​and close ties between people and reiterated their strong commitment to take bilateral cooperation to new heights in the coming years.

“The two sides agreed to further enhance mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in various fields, including trade and economic cooperation, animal husbandry, pharmaceuticals, education, space,” the statement said. Modi thanked Luxon for looking after the interests of the Indian community in New Zealand, to which he assured continued efforts for the safety and welfare of the Indian community. Modi later said in a post on ‘X’, “I thank Prime Minister Christopher Luxon for his phone call and good wishes.

Modi has also become PM for the third consecutive time

While New Zealand Prime Minister Luxon was elected for the second time, Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time. PM Modi said that Luxon reiterated our firm commitment to further India-New Zealand relations, which are based on shared democratic values ​​and mutual relations between people. His efforts for the safety and welfare of the Indian community in New Zealand were appreciated. In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, Modi has returned to power for the third consecutive time. (Language)
