PM Modi gave a satisfactory reply to the opposition's 'attacks' on the budget, said something big in front of the people of the industry

New Delhi. India is progressing rapidly and in the third term of the NDA government, the country is moving towards becoming the third largest economy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this while speaking at the ‘Journey Towards Developed India’ program at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CCI). Speaking among eminent people from the industry, the Prime Minister said that the government’s entire focus is on development. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was also present at this program.

After Budget 2024, the opposition had made several allegations against the government and said that the government has given special package to only two states, while the rest of the states were not given anything. It was also said that the government did not work for all sectors. He indirectly answered this in the CCI program. The Prime Minister said that the government is paying attention to every sector and under this, the budget of important sectors like railways and agriculture has been increased substantially. The budget of railways has been increased eight times, while the budget of agriculture has been increased four times. This will accelerate improvement and development in these sectors.

Modi also said that in the last few years, 25 crore people have risen above the poverty line, which has boosted economic reforms and development in the country. He stressed that the country is moving fast on the path of development and the government’s dedicated policies and schemes have a big role to play in this.

The country is growing with startups
Prime Minister Modi said that the startup culture in the country has also been promoted, and currently 1 lakh 40 thousand startups are running in India. This is a clear indication of the development of young entrepreneurs and new technologies, which is making India stronger on the economic front.

He said, although there is uncertainty all over the world, India has maintained its progress despite this. Modi also mentioned that since 2014, the country has faced five major disasters, but every time the Indian economy has bounced back strongly. These disasters tried to affect the country’s economic and social structure, but the government’s readiness and policy firmness successfully faced these challenges.

Didn’t make such a big claim just like that
PM Modi’s claim that India’s economy will soon reach the third position does not seem to be far-fetched. Currently, the size of the Indian economy is 3.42 trillion dollars, which is at the fifth position. The fourth largest economy is Germany, whose size is 4.08 trillion dollars and Japan at the third position is 4.23 trillion dollars. Talking about the growth rate, Germany’s growth rate is around 2 percent, while Japan’s growth rate is running below 1 percent. In comparison to these two, India’s growth rate is around 8 percent.
