New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolor flag for the 11th time in a row at the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day. On this occasion, PM Modi addressed the nation for about one hour and 41 minutes. The Prime Minister talked about many issues including rising crimes against women, corruption, reforms in the judicial system, the situation in Bangladesh. - Expressing concern over the increasing crime against women, PM Modi said that we have to think seriously. There is anger among the general public towards the atrocities being committed against our mothers, sisters and daughters. The country, society and our state governments have to take this seriously. Crimes against women should be investigated as soon as possible. Those who commit demonic acts should be given severe punishment as soon as possible, this is necessary to create trust in the society.
- Prime Minister Modi said that 75 thousand new seats will be created for medical studies in the next five years. In his address from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 78th Independence Day, he also said that along with a developed India, we have to create a healthy India. Modi said that we have increased the medical seats to almost one lakh in the last 10 years. Every year 25 thousand youth go abroad to study medicine. They go to such countries that I am surprised to hear about them. He announced that we have decided that 75 thousand new seats will be created in the medical line in the next five years.
