PM Modi in Pune: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Pune on Sunday. The PM will inaugurate the metro rail project here. Along with this, the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, 9.5 feet high, will be unveiled. The Prime Minister will begin his Pune tour with the inauguration of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj that has been installed in the Pune Municipal Corporation premises. This 9.5 feet high statue is made from 1,850 kg of gun metal. At the same time, politics has also started regarding PM’s visit. However, Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar has said that the Prime Minister is going to inaugurate the incomplete metro rail project.
Prime Minister Modi had laid the foundation stone of the Pune Metro Rail Project on December 24, 2016. The total length of this project is 32.2 km. Out of this, only 12 km long metro route will be inaugurated on March 6. The total cost of this project is estimated to be Rs 11,400 crore. According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the metro project is being built at a total cost of over Rs 11,400 crore and is an effort to provide world-class infrastructure for urban mobility in Pune.
NCP President Sharad Pawar has said that a few days ago the Metro officials also informed me about this Metro project. According to him, the work of the metro line is not yet completed. Prime Minister Modi probably wants to inaugurate only half-finished works. Let us inform that only seven kilometer of the 12 kilometer metro line connecting Pimpri Chinchwad to Swargate has been constructed. On the other hand, in the second line of 13 km of Pune Metro, only 5 km of work has been completed.
On Sunday, apart from inaugurating these metro projects, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for many more development projects. These include projects like the city’s Mula-Mutha river pollution-free project, RK Laxman gallery and electric bus launch.
