PM Modi in India TV program
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a explosive interview to India TV amid the Lok Sabha elections. Answering a question, PM Modi told that when he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat, how he bravely faced the devastating earthquake of 2001 there. PM Modi told that when he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the first time on 7 October 2001, he had no experience. I was neither an MLA nor an MP. I never went to the police station. I didn’t even have any understanding about government. There was an earthquake there at that time. After taking oath, I went to earthquake affected areas.
The authorities changed the rules and regulations
When I took a meeting with the officials, I came to know that the rules made by the government were against the people. I told the officials that you are the CM of your block. Tell us how the CM will work there. On this the officials changed the rules and regulations and work was done for the benefit of the people. By December, so much work was done there that everyone started praising it. Prime Minister Modi said that he held a meeting with the officials. In which they were told that nothing would happen before March-April. Because funds will be required for this. On this, we made changes in the system of funds to be released in the financial year.
Gave officers complete freedom to work
PM Modi said that he gave free rein to the district officials to work. I told him to go to the area and talk to the people and tell them their problems. The officers also did good work. In January, I held a press conference in Delhi in which embassy officials of many countries were called. Everyone praised his work. Media from all over the world also reached the spot.
The system can be improved by making some changes
PM Modi said that we first make the officials experience the related thing. I motivate them for work. Therefore, the government is the same, the offices are the same, the rules are the same, the officers are the same but by making some changes we brought good results.
