Narendra Modi, Prime Minister.
New Delhi: for the third time in a row After becoming the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi may go to New York next month to attend the United Nations Summit on the Future. Many world leaders are likely to attend the summit. Sources gave this information on Wednesday. The summit will be held on 22 and 23 September. Sources said that during the summit in New York, apart from talking to many world leaders, the Prime Minister will also address an event of the Indian community. There is also a possibility of a Quad conference during this time.
According to the UN, the summit will bring together leaders of different countries to forge a new international consensus on how to “build a better present and a secure future”. “Effective global cooperation is vital to our survival, but it is difficult to achieve in an atmosphere of suspicion, using outdated structures,” it said. The Prime Minister may also attend the United Nations General Assembly. However, there has been no official announcement about Modi’s visit to New York yet.
Quad summit may also happen
There is speculation that the Quad summit may be held on the sidelines of the future UN summit in New York. This year it is India’s turn to host the Quad summit, a group of four countries. The Quad includes India, the US, Australia and Japan. India had planned to host the Quad summit in January, but it could not happen due to US President Joe Biden’s inability to visit India.
