A total of 117 players from India participated in the Paris Olympics 2024. India won a total of 6 medals, including one silver and five bronze medals. Now on the occasion of Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has met the Indian players participating in the Paris Olympics 2024.

Manu Bhaker, who won two bronze medals in the Olympics, shows him the pistol. Then PM Modi meets Aman Sehrawat and Swapnil Kusale. He also congratulates them. After this, he is seen talking to badminton player Lakshya Sen. Lakshya Sen lost in the bronze medal.
Manu Bhaker won two medals
India’s shooters performed brilliantly in the Paris Olympics 2024. India won three medals in shooting. Manu Bhaker won the bronze medal in the individual event of 10 meter air pistol. Even after this, her strong performance continued. Then she won the bronze medal with Sarabjot Singh in the mixed event of 10 meter air pistol. She is the first Indian female player to win two medals in the same Olympics.
The Indian hockey team was a strong contender to win the gold medal in the Paris Olympics 2024. But the team had to face defeat against Germany in the semi-finals. After this, India defeated Spain 2-1 in the bronze medal match. Earlier, the hockey team had also won the bronze medal in Tokyo. Not only did India win two consecutive Olympic medals, but the hockey team also defeated Australia in the Olympics after 52 years.
Olympics 2036 should be held in India: PM Modi
PM Modi mentioned the Olympic winners present there during his address from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Independence Day. Modi said that friends, it is the dream of India that the Olympics of 2036 should be held on Indian soil. We are preparing for that, we are moving ahead. India had expressed its desire to host the Olympics during the International Olympic Committee conference held in Mumbai last year. The election of the IOC President is to be held next year and only after that the decision on the host of the 2036 Olympic Games is likely to be taken.
