New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Anurag Thakur’s speech in the Lok Sabha and said it must be heard. During his speech, Thakur, a former Union minister, politically hit back at opposition leader Rahul Gandhi’s address.
Appeal to people to listen
“This speech by my young and dynamic colleague Anurag Thakur is a must-listen. A perfect blend of facts and satire, the speech exposes the dirty politics of the ‘indi’ alliance,” PM Modi said in a post on ‘X’. Thakur hit back at Rahul Gandhi over his speech in the Lok Sabha. The BJP leader referred to alleged scams during Congress governments and critical references made by its leaders in the past about caste-based quotas to ask questions to the Leader of Opposition.
Rahul Gandhi surrounded on the issue of caste based census
On the issue of caste-based census, Rahul’s question on his caste led to an uproar in the Lok Sabha. The Leader of Opposition called it an insult and said it would not deter him from sticking to his demand for caste-wise census. In another post on ‘X’, the Prime Minister praised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s response to the discussion on the Budget. Anurag Thakur hits back at Rahul
In the House, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had linked the lotus with violence, to which Anurag Thakur retorted, “A leader stood up and made a dig at the lotus, but the name of the lotus is also Rajiv, so does he consider Rajiv Gandhi bad too?
Anurag Thakur said this while pointing towards Rahul’s father late Rajiv Gandhi. He said, “I don’t know what objection he has with the lotus. Rajiv is also a synonym of the lotus. Maybe he doesn’t know this. If he did, I am sure he wouldn’t have made such a comment about the lotus.
Anurag Thakur made this allegation
Anurag said, “They associated the lotus with violence. They associated Rajiv with violence. But I want to say that the seat of Maa Lakshmi is also the lotus, our national flower is also the lotus and the idol of Lord Shiva was found in the Padmasana posture in which the Indus Valley Civilization took place, Lokmanya Tilak also attained Samadhi in the Padmasana posture, you say that there is violence all around the lotus. You are not insulting the lotus, you are insulting great men like Mahayogi Lord Shiva, Lord Buddha and Lokmanya Tilak.
