PM Modi should not hesitate to take action like Indira Gandhi in Bangladesh... who said that

Bangalore. Expressing concern over the political turmoil in Bangladesh and the alleged atrocities on Hindu minorities, a Congress MLA in Karnataka on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should not hesitate to take decisive military action like former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi. Rizwan Arshad, MLA from Shivajinagar Assembly constituency in Bengaluru, wrote a letter to PM Modi urging him to take steps like the military action taken by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1971.

Rizwan Arshad said in his letter to PM Modi, “I am writing this letter to you today as a concerned citizen of India, deeply distressed by the recent news and videos circulating on social media, highlighting the ongoing political turmoil in Bangladesh and the atrocities being committed against Hindu minorities in the region.”

He also appealed to them to take “decisive action” to address the concerns of minorities not only in Bangladesh but also in India, who are “under constant attack both economically and socially by the right wing”. The Congress MLA said that if these reports are true, then given the historical and cultural ties between India and Bangladesh, it is important that India takes a “proactive stand” in resolving these issues.

Rizwan Arshad said that the safety and welfare of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh should be of utmost concern, the MLA urged the Prime Minister to work with the new Bangladeshi government to ensure that immediate and effective measures are taken to protect their rights and dignity.

He said, “Right-wing social media influencers and handles in India are spreading news which if true (many have been found to be fake), I urge the Indian government to find out the authenticity of these reports/videos. If they are proven to be true, the Indian government should take strict action against them.” Arshad said that the people of India have always stood in favor of justice, peace and protection of human rights.

In his letter, Arshad said, “As our Prime Minister, you should not hesitate to take decisive military action like Indira Gandhi did in 1971. I request you to use your respected position to help our Hindu brothers and sisters in Bangladesh in this difficult time.” He said, “I am confident that under your leadership India will take decisive action to address the concerns of minorities not only in Bangladesh but also in India.”
