new Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a phone conversation with the newly elected President of South Korea, Eun Suk Yol, on Thursday.
The Prime Minister congratulated Yole on his victory in the recent presidential elections.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, during this the two leaders agreed on the importance of further deepening and expanding the scope of the Special Strategic Partnership between India and Korea.

During this, they also discussed various areas which have the potential to give impetus to bilateral cooperation. Both the leaders also agreed to work together in this regard.
“The two leaders expressed and emphasized their desire to jointly organize celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Korea next year,” a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs said.
Prime Minister Modi also extended an invitation to the President of Korea to visit India at the earliest.
Yol won the March 9 presidential election by a narrow margin of 0.73 percent and received 48.56 percent of the vote.
