Major intersections, roads and parks are also being decorated. He says that preparations are going on at a fast pace and will be completed within the stipulated time. This time the Yogi Adityanath government has put in all its strength to make the Mahakumbh grand. Along with this, the state government is giving priority to cleanliness and environmental sustainability in the Mahakumbh event and has declared it a plastic-free Mahakumbh, promoting eco-friendly options and banning plastic products.

Biodegradable items instead of plastic
Shops selling biodegradable items like “Dona-Patta” will replace plastic items, thereby contributing to a clean environment. Additionally, over 1,500 Ganga Sevadoots have been deployed to lead the cleanliness drive and schools in the region are actively working to create awareness about the importance of going plastic-free.

Use of technology in Mahakumbh
The UP government has taken several technological initiatives to improve the experience of devotees. An app has been launched that will provide essential information about the event including details of ghats, akhadas and religious places. Visitors can book eco-friendly transportation services through the app, ensuring smooth and sustainable travel. Additionally, AI cameras and drones will be used to monitor security and cleanliness, ensuring a safe and orderly environment for everyone.
